Why La Papesse?

I chose to name my Juri shrine for the tarot card that she is drawn on in the beautiful doujinshi tarot deck found at Empty Movements. 'La Papesse' means 'The High Priestess' in french. This tarot card, to me, and others, seems very apt for Arisugawa Juri.

The High Priestess is the third card of the major arcana, it is numbered 2, and it is said to stand for Intuitive Awareness when read upright, reversed the card stands for not listening to what your heart tells you. In Tarot Plain and Simple by Anthony Louis, he gives a variety of key words and phrases to interpret this card. Quite a few of them seem ideal for Juri.

The High Priestess Upright represents: spiritual forces, secrets, love without sex, psychological insight, learning about feelings, the subconscious, hidden issues, early memories, hidden influences, unrevealed secrets, lesbian sexuality, the power of silence, learning, and life without men.

The High Priestess Reversed represents: too little time for reflections, ignoring your dreams or intuitions, repressed feelings, discounting the promptings of your heart, and excessive reliance on rational thought.

La Papesse seems to represent Juri, it talks about her relationship with Shiori, or perhaps more pertinently, the lack thereof. It also indicates a kind of learning curve which can be interpreted as the changes of heart Juri grows into as the show progresses.
